Raised in a loving, hard-working, middle-class family, my brother and I were extremely fortunate to be given wonderful examples by our parents.

My father's unending passion for sharing laughter with others, his tireless work ethic, and my mother's soft-spoken kindness and compassion are gifts that will always be with me.

Throughout my life, I've not only been blessed with a wonderfully supportive and loving family, but also with many extraordinary friends from whom I've learned so many lessons, and received so many acts of kindness, they're far too numerous to count.

Because of all of those remarkable individuals, I've grown to understand that every day is truly a gift.

Passions such as history, music, art, travel, golf, hiking, and skiing will always be extremely important to me, but no pursuit is ever more rewarding than striving to understand the deeper values that inform our lives.

Throughout my early career, I was fortunate to author or co-author numerous articles on Hollywood studio technology, including the three-part feature "L.A. Law and Home Studios," exploring legal and governmental issues surrounding the multi-billion dollar market shift to digital media production.

At the time of that article's publication, shares of Apple Computer traded in the $1.50 range. In June '2023, Apple Inc.'s market cap exceeded $3 trillion.
